Facebook is now one of the most powerful social networking platforms on the planet.  So powerful that they registered more searches in March 2010 than Google.

Yes, you read that correctly.

If you want to do business through this incredibly viral, wonderfully targetable, highly searchable social platform…you need to at least learn some of the basics to get started. Continue reading »

This post isn’t what you think.  I am not going to talk about the Pagan vs. Christianity debate about Easter or how ironic it is that we have chosen large pink bunnies and chocolate eggs to somehow represent Jesus rising from the dead.

That stuff is funny enough on it’s own.

But as I sit here Easter Sunday morning looking over my backyard in full bloom, the sun bouncing off the pool and a light breeze flowing in through a set of oversized windows…I started thinking about something else. Continue reading »

“Stop running!”

“Get out of the water!”

“Stop climbing on that!”

If you are anything like me, even with my best intentions to make sure my son hears plenty of “Yes’s,” he still get his shares of “no’s” and “stop that.”  Probably more than I would like to admit.

Yesterday we arrived at Disney World…the happiest place on earth!  This is the first time for my son, who is five, and it’s the first time I have been here in over 30 years! Continue reading »

My 5-year-old son just fell asleep minutes after finishing his dinner this Sunday evening after a long, adventurous birthday weekend.  He was flat worn out and crashed early, thankfully, as it provided an extra 30 minutes in my schedule tonight to be able to write this post.

Unless you are a parent, you just don’t get that last sentence.  If your child’s bedtime is usually 7:30pm and they fall asleep for some reason at 6:45pm, it’s like you have been given this miraculous gift of time that didn’t even exist before.  It’s a total freebie.

Sometimes we use this gift to dive into something really productive.  Sometimes, though, we hit our favorite spot in the house, get comfy, pour a nice glass of wine and relax into a state of nothingness. Continue reading »
