We went to the mall the other day, to get August’s picture taken with Santa.

Right now, his mom has to take the bus up. So, I picked her up at the bus stop, and we went to the mall.

I know I am biased, but he is one of the cutest kids I’ve ever known. Continue reading »

In May of 1986, I was 7 years old (I turned 8 in August). My grandpa had a beach house over on the Hood Canal, a couple hours West of Seattle. We spent a lot of time over there. He was always having people over, and usually it was a party.

Well, I don’t know exactly when, but my grandpa attended an auction for Kennedy High School, a Catholic School, where his step-son was going at the time.  One of the items that he successfully bid on, was a “day of golf” with Chuck Knox. For those of you that don’t know who that is, before the Seattle Seahawks had Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox was the most beloved Head Coach we’d had. And, with all due respect, to many, he probably still is.

Being the avid fisherman that my grandpa is, that “day of golf” turned into a “day of fishing”. Being that my grandpa had the beach house, they all went fishing over on the Hood Canal. Continue reading »

Of course, it seems like a story like this comes up every month or so. Whether it’s an athlete, a politician, a clergyman, your friend’s husband, or your neighbor’s wife. Yes, women cheat, too. In fact, I am going to go out on a limb here and say that women are almost equally as guilty in the infidelity department, as men are.

I personally have never been married, and that’s probably not a bad thing.

However, I like to believe that when I do get married, it will be well contemplated on both of our parts. I also like to believe that those marriage vows actually mean something, and should not be taken lightly. Call me old fashioned, but I hope that when the time comes, my wife and I can agree that sticking to the well thought out, traditional wedding vows, is the way to go. Why try and fix something that’s not broken? Continue reading »

I hope that all of us can find things to be grateful for. Not just today, but everyday of the year.

For the sake of Thanksgiving. I would like to mention some of the things that I’m grateful for:

I’m grateful that my son, August, is healthy.

I’m grateful that the custody case is behind us. Continue reading »

I love, August!

Love, love, love, August!

To this day, when he is in my arms, as I get him to sleep, it is the exact same as the day I held him in my arms for the first time.

Thinking back, that night was so awesome! Continue reading »

I have a long time friend down in Nashville, Tennessee. He and I have known each other since we were 7 years old. When we were younger, he lived with his mom during the school year, in New York City. He would come to stay with his dad during the summer, in Seattle. His dad lived on the same block I did.

One July day, back in 1986, I was walking down the block, and there was a birthday party going on. It was his birthday. He said, “hi!”, and I said, “hi!” back. We’ve been friends ever since.

The kind of friends, that when we were younger, we would beat the crap out of each other, then we’d be best friends again, a half hour later. Continue reading »

How much sense does this make?

“In order to gain control of your life, often times, it’s imperative that some people learn how to let go of control.”

In the process, just as important, is gaining the ability to be able to look at yourself, and not blame everything and everyone else for where you’re at in life. “When you point the finger at others, you’ve got three pointing right back at you.” Continue reading »
