Ok my weekend was spent taking care of kids, issues at home and getting caught up on three major projects that I have due this week. Because of this I didn’t get a blog done that I believed would be of value to any of you. So here is my short and honest blog for you…

My daughter made a comment that she doesn’t necessarily believe that true love exists and it made me really think about my beliefs when it comes to love.  Having been divorced twice I did not have the best track record in the relationship department and it also made me question what message I had sent to my children about relationships and love.

I had the same dreams as anyone when I walked down the aisle and exchanged wedding vows.  I believed in happily ever after and I wanted my love to be forever.  I certainly did not plan on getting a divorce and there are days that I still have this deep and raw regret that my marriages did not last.  There are times that I feel so sad that life did not go as planned  and I envy family and friends that are happily married.

It bothered me to think that my children might not believe that true love exists and that it is possible to love forever and live happily ever after.  Had my divorces left them with a tarnished view of love?  Did I have a tarnished view on love?  The answer is no.  It is true that love is messy at times and it can be completely irrational.  Love does not always make sense and sometimes love can hurt so bad it leaves one feeling like life will never be the same.  With that being said, love is also one of the most beautiful experiences in the world.  Love is magical and at the end of the day it is really the only thing that matters.  Love is exciting, invigorating and can leave you feeling breathless.  To be in love is a gift and there is nothing quite like it.
