2010 was one heck of a year for many people. I know it was for me. I am grateful for all the gifts it brought me but I am also grateful that in 2 short days, I can wash my hands of it and say hello to a new year. How about you?

When I was pondering on what to blog about I came across this quote: ”Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive – the risk to be alive and express what we really are.” Don Miguel Ruiz.

And…that made me think of New Year’s and all the reasons we make our New Year’s Resolutions. We want to resolve those pesky habits that have been following us around for a lifetime and aspire to be who we want be. We  think of January 1st as the beginning of our new life. We will throw away the old and start anew. We will become who we really are with the promise of the new year. We will make goals and plans that no one can stop.

Will we succeed?

Chances are…NO.

How about trying something new this year?

My friend Sue has a blog too. It’s called greatbigYES.com. It’s a great blog…check it out. She wrote about throwing out the worn out resolutions and just LOVE more. I like that and could not agree more.

So, as we say goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 let’s make it simple!  Let’s LOVE others more,  LOVE ourselves more, EXPRESS who we really are, and really really be ALIVE!

Happy New Year!
