Just a funny kid story
So a long long time ago I was at the lake with my two kiddos and my nephew. He was a few years older than my guys so the ages were probably around 9 to 6 years old.
They were kicking around on the shoreline rocks and I was relaxing in the cold water just near the edge. An old yellow lab approached them and just sort of “friendlied” up to them. He followed them around and sniffed at them for at least 30 minutes or so.
After some time I yelled over to my nephew, the 9 year old and told him to read the dogs name tag so we would know who was following them around.
He gives the, now wet dog, a bear hug and reaches over to read the dog tag on the faded red collar.
My nephew looks up from the old dog, ponders a moment and yells across the lake edge to me
“Hey Uncle Pat…his name is RABIES!”
…I almost drowned right there…..
